BTRC provides high quality mobile service at Padma Bridge
The authority of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) ensured the quality of mobile network in the bridge and its annex area ahead of the inauguration occasion of Padma Bridge on Saturday.
Shyam Sunder Sikder, chairman of BTRC, visited the region on Friday to inspect the measures taken by mobile operators and the network quality in the region, said a notice issued by BTRC.
The BTRC Chairman visited a permanent site set up jointly by Grameenphone, Robi and Banglalink near Service Area 1 at the end of Mawa and a temporary site set up by Grameenphone and Teletalk during his visit, reads the notification.
On this occasion, the mobile telephone operators informed the chairman of the BTRC of the measures they have taken to strengthen the network.
An inspection team then checked the quality of the network on the bridge and at the Jazira end.
According to the notification, the operators have improved the transmission capabilities of 2G, 3G and 4G technologies to ensure a quality mobile network for all who attend the opening ceremony on both sides of the bridge.
In addition, mobile operators have increased the transmission capacity of their sites in order to provide quality telecommunication services to users in the area adjacent to the Padma bridge and the Babubazar-Bhanga highway.
The transmission bandwidth of 50 Grameenphone sites has been increased in the area adjacent to the Babubazar-Bhanga highway. Teletalk also received unlimited bandwidth for transmission purposes from NTTN operators.
All mobile operators have formed special monitoring teams to monitor the general network status in Padma Bridge and adjacent areas.
According to Grameenphone, their users will be able to enjoy the opening ceremony directly from anywhere via the My GP app for free.
